On February 17, 2020, Elim Church of Jilin donated 15 color-coated steel houses to a local epidemic control station.
As all the communities in Songyuan were under lockdown, the community staff and volunteers had to be on duty to take the temperature measurement of people entering the communities and record the passage of vehicles, according to Songyuan Christian Council (CC).
The workers had to work outdoors in mostly snowy days since there was no lounge in many communities.
Knowing this, Rev. Wang Shiyou, president of Songyuan CC, summoned the administrative board to have a meeting. They decided to donate color-coated steel houses to improve the working conditions. The church workers donated more than 60,000 yuan to purchase 15 steel houses.
