Why Evangelism Fails

This article talks about the topic of evangelism. Scripture says, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? ...  Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message." (Romans 10:14, 17)

Every Christian carries the mission and responsibility of evangelization. Churches often preaches a message on evangelism and theological seminaries offer related course training, so why is evangelism ineffective?

Christians are always the "minority" wherever they are. Below is my reflection on the effect of evangelism:

First of all, do we really love souls?

Does the zeal for saving lost souls consume us? We often pray that the Lord can choose more souls, but do we set aside ??? to save a soul?

Jesus reached out his hand to a man with leprosy when he was rejected by everyone else. Jesus healed both his body and soul. Do we take the initiative to care for people who need support in order to win a soul and let them be touched by the love of the Lord Jesus? Let's not love with words or tongue but with actions.

Secondly, do we really care about the heavenly Father's heart?

Lost souls are regarded with such importance in the eyes of the heavenly Father that he sent his only son to die for sinners like us. Becoming flesh, God's Son was crucified on the cross for our sins, which solved our sin problem.

Since Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice of atonement to fulfill the will of the heavenly Father, shouldn't we preach the Gospel to satisfy God's desire?

What difficulty do we face in evangelism?  The dilemma lies not in the method, but the attitude.

To start with, we should pray that the Lord can remove any self-righteousness that hinders the Gospel inside us before reaching others. That we can be the messengers of the Gospel is just because grace has been given to us earlier. We should not be unconsciously proud as Christians. Christians should never judge too quickly in anything, whomever they reach.

Rather than reject non-believers, Christians should approach captive souls with Christ's love and preach the Gospel to them so that they can be free in Heaven.

It's the same for unconverted family members. Take up your own cross in your family. Don't let your family have the idea that Christians are oddballs. Reveal the Lord's love in daily affairs. Don't be diametrically opposed to your family, and remember that you can speak with confidence since you are a Christian. Serve your family with a humble heart.

May we deny and humble ourselves to save thousands of soul like Christ. Amen!
