Today is Chongyang Festival or the Double Ninth Festival, the traditional Chinese day that falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month.

On this day, senior people climb the mountain, wear dogwood, eat double ninth cakes, and drink chrysanthemum liquor.

Proverbs in the Bible says that gray hair is a crown of splendor. Glory is relevant to ages, but more comes from God's grace. Aging doesn't bring trouble and sorrow, but love and blessings from the Heavenly Father as well as joy and fullness from life.

Here we offer ten Bible passages to bless all the elderly Christians. May you have an abundant, joyous, and healthy life.

Psalm 92:12-14

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,

they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;

planted in the house of the Lord,

they will flourish in the courts of our God.

They will still bear fruit in old age,

they will stay fresh and green.

Proverbs 16:31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;

it is attained in the way of righteousness.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Proverbs 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old.

Job 12:12 Is not wisdom found among the aged?    Does not long life bring understanding?

Proverbs 17:6 Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Joel 2:28 "And afterward,

I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

Your sons and daughters will prophesy,

your old men will dream dreams,

your young men will see visions."

Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs

I am he, I am he who will sustain you.

I have made you and I will carry you;

I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Jeremiah 31:13 Then young women will dance and be glad,

young men and old as well.

I will turn their mourning into gladness;

I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
