"Is everything okay?"

This question is oftentimes answered with fake thoughts, words and actions. Some may feign a smile and act like everything was just fine but the truth is that they are actually not okay and that they felt very anxious about many things in many ways.

However, God said that "It is okay..... to not be okay."

Sometimes, people assume that being a strong Christian means you have to be happy and cheerful at all times. While it is true that God gives us reasons to be joyful, there are still times in our lives that we experience moments of pain, difficulty, suffering, anguish and other trials.

Blessed as we are, God provides us His words and stories on the Bible and He gives us evidence of this fact. Read Psalms or study the lives of Moses, Joseph, Paul, Abraham and Jesus. They did not live their lives free from suffering, instead they endured and persevered through these struggles by the strength and grace of God.

Here are the few thing which can help us through our "not okay" moments:

Pour our heart out to God.

According to Psalm 62:8, "pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." Sometimes, we assume that God knows what we are going through and that we do not need to voice out our sufferings and pain but when we truly trust Him and look to Him as our refuge, we need to go to Him and share everything that is in our hearts like sharing with our bestest friend.

Have the courage to cry.

Crying is not a sign of weakness, instead it means that you are still alive. If you notice, all babies when born, they cry and that is the sign that they are safe and alive. Likewise, shedding tears can be a healthy way to release our emotion which can help us refreshed and be renewed. Even Jesus was record to have "wept" in John 11.
