Qingdao Church Holds Painting & Calligraphy Exhibition

During the week-long 2019 Spring Festival holiday, the Qingdao Christian Church Shandong province held a painting and calligraphy exhibition as well as inviting the public to try their hand at calligraphy.

Rev. Dong Meiqin, the chairman of the Shandong China Christian Council (CCC) and director of the Qingdao Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), said that it was especially significant for the church to hold the exhibition of traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy and the activity of letting the public calligraphy. 

The activity was held from Feb. 8 to 10, 2019 and was directed by calligraphers. Participants wrote words such as "Fu" (blessing), Bible verses, and Chinese poems. Organizers said that they felt it to be a unique combination of traditional Chinese culture and the Bible.
