A disinfection team has been actively involved in disinfecting residential buildings three days each week in Yanji, in China's northeastern Jilin Province.

After the Covid-19 outbreak in late January, the Chinese department of Nanxin Church suspended all public meetings and instructed the congregation to be quarantined at home, according to the Jilin Christian Council and Three-Self Patriotic Movement.

With the spread of the virus, all residential quarters were locked down and disinfected.

Staff members of one of the church committees learned that a residential area called Tianxin Community had never been disinfected due to a lack of personnel. The committee volunteered to find persons who could assist and permission was given by the Tianxin community.

Beginning on February 19, the team has acted as the community's disinfection team. In addition, they discovered that some elderly residents and sanitation workers did not own enough masks. Through different approaches, the team purchased 600 masks and distributed them free of charge.

On March 1, the church committee appealed for more members to enlarge the team so the work could be carried out more thoroughly. They are willing to do this with joy, praying for a quick end to the pandemic.
