Three Zhejiang Churches Cease In-Person Gatherings Amid Latest Outbreak

Three Zhejiang churches in Hangzhou City announced the halt of in-person gatherings amid the new pandemic wave.

Hangzhou Municipal CC&TSPM released a notice on December 8, stating that all face-to-face services and gatherings would be suspended in Shangcheng District and Gongshu District.

The next day, Chongyi Church in Shangcheng District and Chengbei Church in Gongshu District announced the recent suspensions of the opening of places of worship and onsite religious gatherings from that day on till further notice. Panshi Church in Xiasha District also issued a notice to cease in-person gatherings from Sunday, December 12.

From December 5 to 9, Zhejiang Province reported 24 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 35 asymptomatic cases in Ningbo, Shaoxing, and Hangzhou, according to Xinhua News Agency.
