Fujian Christians put themselves forward as volunteers to fight against the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic with donations in cash and kind, Fujian Provincial Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (CC&TSPM) reported.

On March 25, Fujian CC&TSPM donated 100,000 N95 masks to the Gaishan Town Command Center for COVID-19 control and prevention in Cangshan District, Fuzhou City.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus virus, faculty staff and students at the Fuwan Campus of Fujian Theological Seminary underwent the fourth round of nucleic acid testing carried out by the medical staff of Gaishan Township Health Center.

As of March 27, Beimen Church council members in Zhangzhou, Fujian, sent a total of 155 volunteers to assist with anti-epidemic efforts in four teams. For instance, in a local closed and controlled area, Senior Pastor Huang Lihong led ten volunteers seven days in a row in cooperating with medical personnel to collect COVID-19 swabs at home, transfer goods outside the community, and persuade other people not to enter.

Beimen Church provided 28,999 yuan worth of relief supplies to several closed and controlled communities, such as medical protective clothing, isolation gowns, masks, medical face shields, hand sanitizer, rubber gloves, medical gloves, and alcohol.

On March 22, four church staff members were sent by Shaxian TSPM to a nucleic acid testing site in Shaxian District, Sanming, Fujian, to help residents with registration by scanning a QR code and crowd control.

In response to the request of Shaxian TSPM, six local churches suspended in-person gatherings, encouraging believers to undergo nucleic acid testing and participate in volunteer services.

Xiangzhi Church in Shishi City, Quanzhou, Fujian, donated a total of 75,000 yuan, including 20,000 yuan to Shishi Charity Federation and 55,000 yuan to eight villages.

On March 29, mainland China reported 1,629 new confirmed cases (three imported cases and seven locally transmitted cases in Fujian) and 7196 asymptomatic infections (85 in Fujian), according to the Chinese Central Government’s Official Web Portal.
