Recently, the world’s popular Bible App YouVersion released its 2021 Verse of the Year Bible verse.

The Bible verse that earned the top spot as YouVersion’s 2021 Verse of the Year, reflecting the verse that has been shared, bookmarked, and highlighted most often throughout the year, is Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

"In this year we have continued to see more and more people seek intimacy with God through YouVersion," it said about the latest data for 2021 released on its official website. "The installs in 2021 reached more than 50.7 million and the YouVersion Bible App surpassed 500 million unique installs in total."

At the same time, YouVersion encourages people to seek God and find Him. “Every installation is an opportunity to let people experience the hope that God has given to transcend the environment. When we seek God throughout each day, we will find this hope. God’s work has just begun, but now, we want to celebrate what he has accomplished in the YouVersion community this year. When you see these amazing numbers, think about what they represent: Hundreds of millions of people are seeking God... And have found Him."

YouVersion Bible-reading App offers a free Bible experience of 2,600 Bible versions in more than 1,700 languages and 1,100 audio Bibles. This Bible App currently provides the most Bible versions of any other app currently available. Its goal is to "help as many people as possible to have access to the Bible, and encourage them to incorporate God's Word into their lives."

According to statistics, this year YouVersion’s total Bible visits by people around the globe are as follows: in total, 55.8 billion chapters were read, 8.2 billion audio chapters were played, 2.4 billion bookmarks, highlights, and notes were created, and 1.4 billion Bible Plan days were completed. In 2021, Monday through Saturday this Bible App engagement was up by 24% on average compared to pre-pandemic levels. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, YouVersion saw that Bible engagement every Sunday was typically 20% higher than the rest of the week. In this year Bible engagement still spiked on Sundays, but not at the expense of daily engagement habits.
