With the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Christian-based Amity Foundation launched an emergency response on January 24th, and united people from all walks of life to fight the epidemic. By 17:00 on March 23rd, it had collected about 75.86 million yuan in donations and materials (including promised donations).

On March 23rd, the first aid shipment from the Amity Foundation -10,000 medical masks and 50,000 civilian masks - were loaded and then shipped to Shibuya District, Tokyo, Japan, which is the main venue for the Tokyo Olympics, according to the foundation.

Amity has commissioned Honorary Citizens of Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Ms. Matsuzaki, the former table tennis world champion, and the "Amity Cup" Table Tennis Charity Organizing Committee, the Japanese Executive Committee member Yasuo Gota and Deputy Secretary General Lv Tie receiving and issuing the boxes of masks, which will be given priority in protecting personnel in medical institutions and elderly care institutions.

On the afternoon of March 16th, Guo Yang, a Chinese businessman from Canada, donated 200,000 yuan to the Amity Foundation for the purpose of sending condolences to the families of eight heroes who gave their precious lives in fighting the epidemic.

During the fight against the virus, the Amity Foundation provided material support to seven groups of medical teams who were supporting Hubei from Jiangsu province. The most popular piece of equipment was the positive-pressure electric air-supply ventilator, called "the best protective equipment" by medical team members.

Some members of the Jiangsu medical team will continue to remain in Wuhan and treat critically ill patients. Among them, more than 200 members of the medical team from Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital will transfer to Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, the "major site of the fight against the epidemic." They will take over two ICU units which have a total of 33 critically ill patients, accounting for about 80% of the total critically ill patients in Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital. In order to support the medical team of Hubei province in the final battle against the epidemic, Amity will provide medical teams with accessories. These include positive pressure electric air supply respirators, including 1200 respirator hoods, 500 P3 grade filter boxes, and 1000 cotton filters, which are expected to be delivered this week.
