KBS' historical romance drama series Hwarang has reportedly increased its viewership ratings in its recent episodes. Reports also claim that a webtoon might have caused it.
On January 30 episode 13 of Hwarang has recorded a 9.7 percent and January 311, episode 14 another 9.1 percent. Reports claim that the increase is expected more as series' plot became more intense with the revelation of Park Seo Joon's character, Sun Woo.
In an earlier report, a webtoon by Nimby also expressed hopes to present to youth of today as showing similarities with Hwarang. It tells a story of youths experiencing love, friendship and passion in the pursuit of their beliefs and freedom.
The webtoon also includes more in-depth explanation of the characters and stories not included during the drama series.
KBS' Hwarang airs every Mondays and Tuesdays.
