In Jilin Province, all registered churches in Gongzhuling City are undergoing the "two suspensions and one delay" policy, due to the increasingly severe situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the local area.

The city saw 30 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 17 new asymptomatic infections on Sunday, which caused mass nucleic acid tests the second day, the provincial health commission said Monday.

Rev. Jin Hongjun, chairman of the Gongzhuling Municipal TSPM (Three-Self Patriotic Movement), Rev. Li Changchun, president of the municipal CC (Christian Council), and staff workers held an emergency meeting on COVID-19 on January 12.

Following the guidelines given by the local government, all the city’s gathering venues must implement the "two suspensions and one postponement" measures. Group religious activities are to be suspended and religious venues closed. Church staff must report when they went out or returned. The congregation members were called on to reduce unnecessary travel. All the venues were required to be disinfected and fire safety equipment inspected.

During the suspension of the in-person services, the churches were advised to adopt many methods to shepherd and visit believers, preventing the rise of heresies.
