Fujian Church Closes Down Due to New COVID-19 Positive Case

A church in Fujian was closed because a person who had returned from abroad tested positive for COVID-19. 

On the afternoon of May 10, after the lifting of restrictions in Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, the person was later determined to be imported asymptomatic infected.

The church in Chengguan Town, Pingtan County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, issued a notice about the suspension of in-person services on May 11.

It said, “All services will be suspended from May 12 due to the prevention and control of the pandemic. We hereby remind everyone not to transmit or watch live worship links not recommended by pastors in our church, in order to prevent extremes, heresies and cults from using network channels to confuse us. Please pay attention to our church’s official WeChat account to attend virtual gatherings on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in real time with family members.”
