Recently, four churches in southeast China issued notices of resumptions of in-person services, with one church in Jiangsu hosting gatherings of up to 100 people every day throughout the last week in May.

To meet believers’ desire for spiritual growth, Huigong Bridge Church which plans to reopen on May 23 announced last Thursday that it would hold 100-person gatherings with a communion service each day from May 23 to 27. As Wednesday and Friday will have one more service, a total of 700 believers can worship God in these weekday services.

The church also reminded its members to attend the worship service according to the admission number arranged by the church and that they should contact church staff if they need to change the number, otherwise they can’t change the time.

On its official WeChat account, Changzhou Church in Jiangsu said Christians can enter the church to worship starting from May 21 with a negative nucleic acid testing taken within the previous 48 hours.

Beimen Church in Ningde, Fujian, issued a notice last Thursday, saying it would resume four face-to-face Sunday services beginning on May 22 and believers could also attend the morning service on May 26 to commemorate the ascension of Jesus.

On May 18, Ningbo Holy Church in Zhejiang stated that Holy Church and Fuming meeting point would restart Sunday services starting from May 22, with the number of sessions and starting time remaining unchanged. It declared that the second service would be broadcast live and that persons without smartphones should bring their ID cards and carry out the COVID-19 tests in advance.
