On the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, Youth Day-themed activities were jointly conducted by Shanghai CC&TSPM, Shanghai YWCA, and Shanghai YMCA to commemorate this significant event.

Gui Xiaoxin, director-general of Shanghai YWCA, on May 4 introduced the past and present of the Shanghai YMCA and the YWCA, which have served society and the people as professional social service organizations for over a hundred years, as reported by Shanghai CC&TSPM.

During the event, four lectures were delivered by two staff workers from Shanghai YMCA and YWCA, Rev. Lin Enchao from Grace Church in Jing’an District and Rev. Chen Yili from Huizhong Church in Huangpu District, respectively, titled “Liu Liangmo and the Anti-Japanese Mass Singing Concert”, “Night School for YWCA: A Beacon for Female Workers to Light up the Front", "Shanghai Church in the May Fourth Movement", and "The Story of Li Guojun: A Female Volleyball Player".

Participants remarked that young pastoral staff in the new era should learn from role models and establish a solid foundation of faith to take responsibility and endure hardships.

In his speech, Mr. Battelle from the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs encouraged them to strengthen their studies, improve overall quality, and contribute to the promotion of Christianity in the Chinese context.
