The faith-based Amity Foundation will launch a workshop of twelve lessons to empower social workers.

The Amity Foundation, the Amity Chuanyi Philanthropy Culture Fund, and the Shanghai Amity Philanthropy Research Center will be in charge of organizing the workshop, which will start on March 2.

Among the 12 courses, there will be an onsite fundraising workshop held in July to equip the whole course structure with theory and practice. During training, participants will learn how to establish community resources and practice fundraising through short films.

This year's courses will feature the most popular presenters from the "Social Work Theory and Practice Courses" of the "Amity Cares for Seniors" initiative, as well as colleague social workers lecturing on some topics. Meanwhile, academic tutors and career growth tutors are available to help students with theoretical learning, career development, and work-related problems.

The 12 courses are held on the first and third Saturdays of each month, from March to August. The course topics for March include "Project Innovation and Social Work Career Development" and "From Business to Public Welfare: Becoming a Better Social Worker."

The foundation indicated the desire to employ those courses to bring together more partners to conduct action research, intending to hold seminars in charity industry forums.
