Recently. a flood caused by the rare heavy rainstorm struck Hebei Province in the north China and Xingtai is the worst-hit area in the range.

On July 28, State CCC&TSPM called all the believers to pray for Hebei flood victims and survivors. Before this, it contacted the provincial Christian administration to know the current local disaster situations, the material demand and the follow-up rescue plans.

The social service department of the national CCC&TSPM reported that the areas including the cities like Xingtai, Handan and counties such as Jinjing, Lingshou and Zanhuang were severely damaged by the lasting torrential rainfall and flood.

Even four villages in Xingtai have been submerged by water in the depth of more than two meters and a wall of a new completed church has been ruined. The local soldiers and people are also fighting against the possibility that the nearby dam collapses if the rain continues.

Besides these areas, the mountain village of Xingtai County and the surrounding villages lost their houses and roads, as well as suffering from electricity and water supply failure.

Xingtai CCC&TSPM also appeals for the churches to pray for the disaster and local pastors led the members to provide assistance, send goods and lend road repairs tools including mattresses, food and mosquito coil incense to the victims.

Currently, the local material supply needs to be followed up. The provincial CCC&TSPM plans to distribute supplies to the disaster-affected areas in Xingtai, according to the specific demands of each area and will dedicate a rescue plan after revisiting the situation in Shijiangzhuang city.
