More than 300 members from the Shandong CC&TSPM and the Shandong Theological Seminary attended a national flag-raising ceremony on the National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims.

It has been a usual practice for the staff of the Shandong CC&TSPM and Shandong Theological Seminary to participate in the flag-raising ceremonies, which are held on December 14. By participating the staff receive “patriotic education,” according to CCC&TSPM.

Rev. Gao Ming, chairman of the provincial TSPM, said that the seventh National Memorial Day demonstrated the firm stand of Chinese people against aggressive wars and toward maintaining world peace.

Citing Psalm 90:12, Gao exhorted seminary students to be grateful for the hard-won peace and to study hard to be equipped to become pastoral workers required by the new era.
