On February 14, the first day of the 2024 Lent, churches in Guangzhou launched Ash Wednesday worship and prayer activities.

According to Guangzhou Municipal CC&TSPM, the churches combine meditation, prayer meetings, receiving ashes, and online publicity to help believers understand and participate in the church's significant traditional festival sacraments. During Lent and in everyday devotional life, congregations are encouraged to read the Bible, pray, fast, abstain, and reflect on Jesus Christ's suffering.

On February 20, 16 churches and meeting points in the Guangzhou Christian community held a symposium on the outlook for ministries in 2024, during which they planned to carry out work for the following year, including refined pastoral care, venue construction, connecting unauthorized meeting points with official churches, church-meeting point collaboration, and social services.

Rev. Chen Suisheng, executive vice president of the Guangzhou Christian Council (CC), stated that in 2024, to strengthen the governance of the municipal CC&TSPM, "integration" will be adopted as a path under the guidelines of "Guangzhou Christian Rules and Regulations."
