The second session of the "Yanjing Forum" theme lecture series in 2024, "Construction of the Sinicized Theological Thought System," took place at Yanjing Theological Seminary.

According to Beijing CC&TSPM, on March 14, Rev. Wu Weiqing, chairman of the Beijing Christian Council and dean of the seminary, headed over 200 pastoral staff, backbone volunteers, faculty, and students to the forum, with Rev. Chen Yuexin, deputy president of the seminary and dean of Academic Affairs, presiding.

Professor You Bin, who is dean of the Institute of Religion at the Minzu University of China and a professor and doctoral advisor in the School of Philosophy and Religious Studies, talked about five things: how important and meaningful it is to build theological thought; the historical background of the sinicization of theology; the five pairs of relationships in building theological thought; and the method for developing theological thought. Additionally, Professor You emphasized that the independence of the theological thought system is the long-term goal of developing religions in the Chinese context, serving as a basic philosophy for church self-governance and self-support.
