Registered churches from southeastern and western regions conducted services to mark Good Friday on March 29.

Mochou Lu Church in Nanjing, Jiangsu, hosted a Good Friday service, with Senior Pastor Li Lancheng preaching a sermon titled "The Cross Redeems the World" based on John 19:17–30. He mentioned that the cross, originally a tool of Roman execution for the most heinous criminals, became the fulfillment of prophecy, with Jesus being nailed to it, and paved the way for sinners to approach God.

At Grace Church in Shanghai, Rev. Zhan Min gave a sermon titled "Contemplate Jesus' Passion." She spoke about how Jesus willingly walked the path of the cross to fulfill God's will and atone for the sins of humanity. She emphasized that only Jesus could pay people’s debts and that humans could not save themselves.

The International Church in Ningbo, Zhejiang, held a Good Friday service of meditation, with the choir members and pastoral staff entering the venue with candles. Rev. Xu Lei shared a sermon titled "Walking the Path of the Cross," recounting Simon of Cyrene's reluctant carrying of the cross and how his sons became Christians following his faith in Jesus. He encouraged the congregants to take up their crosses daily and walk with the Lord.

Then, attendees received communion before putting on cross necklaces taken from a large cross at the altar.

During the Good Friday communion service at Centennial Church in Ningbo, the pastor guided Christians to contemplate Christ’s willingness to suffer for humanity’s sins.

The faculty and students of Zhejiang Theological Seminary, along with believers from Truth Church in Binjiang District, Hangzhou, attended a communion worship service. Pastor Zheng Congzhen preached on Philippians 2:5–11, focusing on the incomparable Christ who humbled himself by becoming obedient to death and glorifying God on the cross.

A special worship service and communion ceremony were carried out at Zion Church in Guangzhou, Guangdong, with a sermon titled "The Passion of Jesus" from Rev. He Shengdian, who cited Luke 23:44–46. He shared that Jesus suffered the most painful punishment physically, emotionally, and spiritually and completed his work of redemption.

Believers were urged to focus on the great Savior who died on the cross for humanity's sins and to live in hope, imitating Christ at the Church of Our Savior in Guangzhou, which hosted two worship services to commemorate Jesus’ passion, according to the church.

Gracious Light (Enguang) Church in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, held a Good Friday worship service. Pastor Zhang mentioned that Jesus experienced physical torment, emotional trauma, and God’s abandonment, saying Jesus forgave man's sins, completed God's promise, and redeemed people on the cross. People were also engaged in a worship service referring to the seven last sayings on the cross that evening.

After the Good Friday meditation and prayer meeting titled "Come, Follow Me" at Guangyin Church in Chengdu, a girl shared, "I was deeply moved to refocus my thoughts on the Lord Jesus Christ."
