From April 14 to April 17, the second plenary sessions of the Sacred Music Ministry Committee and the Social Service Ministry Committee of CCC&TSPM were held in Anshan, Liaoning Province, and Yantai, Shandong Province, respectively. These sessions centered on the research of Chinese sacred music talent and the development of Christian nursing homes.
According to CCC&TSPM, during the Sacred Music Ministry Conference on April 17, Rev. Xu Lunsheng, vice president of CCC and director of the Sacred Music Ministry Committee, provided a summary of the committee's activities in 2024. He also presented the work plan for 2025 following the discussion and approval among the attendees. This year's focus for the committee is to maintain the foundational efforts and conduct a survey on sacred music talent within churches across China.
Rev. Lin Manhong, vice president and general secretary of CCC, presented CCC&TSPM's recommendations for the committee's annual work. She emphasized that the work plan should address the current needs of churches in China while aligning with the nature of the ministry. She also stressed the importance of conducting in-depth research and field visits. The 2025 work plan, she noted, should prioritize key areas, focusing on the sinicization of Christianity and the strict governance of religious affairs.
During the Social Service Ministry Committee meeting, held from April 14 to 16, Rev. Guo Yun, vice chairperson of the National TSPM and director of the committee, outlined the committee's priorities for 2025. Committee members reviewed the "Survey Plan (Draft) on the Current Situation of Chinese Christian Elderly Care Institutions" and the accompanying "Survey Questionnaire (Draft)," offering feedback and suggestions. The participants shared experiences in social services from across China. Shandong Provincial CC&TSPM was invited to present its key practices and advanced experiences in social service work.
Rev. Jiang Qianli, president of the National Council of YWCAs of China and deputy director of the Social Service Ministry Committee, delivered a work report for 2024. The report was reviewed and approved by the attending members.
