Zhongnan Theological Seminary sent out a digital invitation on June 24 for its upcoming 40th anniversary celebration. Taking a modern approach, the seminary used online media and included a mini program to collect alumni RSVPs.
According to the host, the anniversary celebration is scheduled to take place at the seminary's new campus from October 15 to 17. The event will feature a welcome dinner, a thanksgiving worship service, a commemorative group photo, and a series of special programs, including a theological forum, a campus tour and exhibition, an alumni reunion, a thanksgiving sharing session for alumni, and a nostalgic visit to the former campus.
Established in May 1985, Zhongnan Theological Seminary officially inaugurated its new campus in September 2019. The seminary has developed through four key phases: pioneering efforts (1985–1995), foundation building (1996–2005), standardization and upgrading (2006–2015), and advancing its mission in the new era (2016–present). It remains dedicated to cultivating well-rounded, patriotic, faithful, and spiritually grounded clergy who demonstrate excellence in character, intellect, physical well-being, and community engagement.
In recent years, the seminary has introduced a variety of innovative initiatives, including courses on etiquette and aesthetics, as well as formal buffet gatherings following reading clubs where faculty and students attend in formal attire. The use of refined digital invitations and interactive WeChat Mini-Programs reflects the seminary's innovative integration of contemporary aesthetics and modern technology.
