After the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival that falls on September 23, 2018, the medical team of Fuzhou Huaxiang Church offered a free clinic to a rural village in central Fujian Province.
The clinic reached more than 200 patients who received treatment with free medicine or health counseling in Xiabao Village, Meixian Town, Youxi County.
Before the 1990s, all the Youxi County used to believe in Buddhism and Taoism. In 1992, Sister Chen Xing from Fuzhou Puqian Church shared the gospel in the village. A new gathering was founded the next March and the number of believers increased year by year. At the end of 2017, a four-story church building with a net area of over 700 square meters (0.17 acres) was completed. In the slack farming season, the congregation numbers around 100.
