On January 26, 2020, the renowned Taiwanese pastor Rev. Kou Shaoen, shared his comfort with the brothers and sisters in Wuhan, appealing to Chinese Christians across the globe to pray for China.

Though the novel coronavirus broke out in late January, Rev. Kou said that he believed Christians in international Chinese churches have been praying for Wuhan believers. He added, "our family in Christ, you are not alone!"

Meanwhile he claimed that the Lord was enthroned as king over the disaster. The pastor exhorted Christians to "ask the Lord to help them, and rely on His strength to find stability in difficult times."

He illustrated that Paul and Silas reacted differently from others while they were jailed in prison; they prayed and sang hymns in the great trouble. People around them found the Christian peace in them and felt calm. Christians should believe that "with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

He also wished Christians would reflect on themselves while facing this situation, and consider whether there was a need for repentance to experience God's great power.

Finally, he prayed for those Christians who suffered severely in the outbreak so that they would know that they were not alone, as we are a spiritual family. "We are all weak, but let us know that we cannot do anything by ourselves, but can do all things through God who gives us strength."
