In Southwest China’s Sichuan Province, Chengdu Municipal TSPM held a ceremony in which they donated Bibles and shared information on the regulation and administration of temporary places for religious activity.

This event was aimed at cooperating with the Party and the government to manage private Christian gathering points, said Rev, according to CCC&TSPM.

Zhang Xiansheng, president of the Sichuan Christian Council (CC) and chairman of the Chengdu Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) claimed that they would resist foreign hostile forces who use religion as a tool of infiltration.

The church leaders reported that 5,000 copies of the Bible and the Chinese New Hymnal were presented to 35 temporary Christian gathering points in the city. At the same time, the "Five Introduction" campaign was carried out, including the national flag and anthem, laws and regulations, socialist core values, excellent traditional culture and the creation of safe places entering the religious activity places. To promote the standardization of venue management, the municipal TSPM has invested special funds to create publicity panels, guiding the correct placement of the panels to ensure full coverage of the activity in the gathering points.

Forty-two persons participated in the event, including the members of the leadership of the municipal TSPM, and heads of the churches, and temporary gathering points in each county or district.
