A Fujian Christian service center will carry out a charity event of making and distributing New Year’s Eve dinners, despite a lack of donors and volunteers thus far.

On its official WeChat account on January 12, Xiamen Ren’ai Love Service Center issued a notice, saying based on the community recommendation list, it would send out 85 Near Year’s Eve dinners to lonely aged people, after passing quality checks, the center said.

The center encourages enterprises and individuals to pledge donations towards the dinners estimated to be 150 yuan per meal, including 12 dishes such as Cantonese-style shrimp dumplings, braised pork in brown sauce, yellow croaker, a rice cake (small portion), and oranges.

The announcement reads that as the food should be made and distributed on the same day, they need five volunteers to cook, eight to pack, and 16 to deliver the food.
