Having been established for more than 20 years, Fuzhou Christian Volunteer Medical Team consists of about 20 experts, chief doctors, and retired doctors from major hospitals in Fuzhou, as well as doctors in the health center of Flower Lane Church. They went to the streets, elderly homes, orphanages, blind asylums, and remote minority villages to provide free health clinic services.

Since 2011, the Volunteer Clinic Team has been to about 10 places including Kuai’an Nursing Home and Mawei to provide free healthcare services. The scope of free medical consultation includes internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, stomatology, ophthalmology, general practice, acupuncture, massage, and traditional Chinese medicine. Bringing medical instruments and drugs worth more than 200,000 yuan, they have treated up to 20,000 patients. In addition to free medical consultation, health care leaflets are also distributed.

Participants of Fuzhou CC&TSPM Volunteer Medical Team sang the hymn The Grace of God Unbounded Is during the symposium to celebrate the 2022 Spring Festival on Jan. 20.

Rev. Chen Lifu, chairman of Fuzhou TSPM, and Li Meiyuan, the director of the Volunteer Clinic Team, successively spoke at the meeting. They said the team would continue to carry out public welfare activities and go to remote and poor villages, letting villagers in poor areas enjoy quality medical services without leaving their villages.
