A church in Guangdong Province, southern China, with a nearly century-old history, had a series of activities to celebrate its reopening.

A service, ordination service, and opening ceremony took place at Wanshan Church in Guangzhou on June 3, according to Guangzhou CC&TSPM. Rev. Chen Suisheng, executive vice president of Guangzhou CC&TSPM, preached a sermon titled "Service in Accordance With God's Heart."

Subsequently, Miao Cunda, the head of Wanshan Church, was ordained as a pastor and appointed as the senior pastor of the church by Guangzhou CC&TSPM.

Officials of the Guangzhou Municipal Government issued the Certificate of Registration for Venues for Religious Activity to Miao Cunda.

It is said that Wanshan Church was completed in 1926, and the meeting activities were stopped during the Great Union of the Guangzhou Church in 1959. To restore this religious activity site, the Guangzhou CC&TSPM launched a restoration plan in 2009 and carried out renovation works. In May this year, it obtained the certificate and reinstated its functions as a religious activity site.
