Churches in China conducted a series of activities and themed worship services for the elderly to mark the Double Ninth Festival which falls on October 23 this year.

Known as Chongyang Festival, the Double Ninth Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month. Referred to as the Senior Citizens' Day, it is a day to show appreciation for the elderly and enjoy the beauty of the season by climbing the mountains.
