The Journal of Research for Christianity in China (JRCC) will hold its 2025 annual meeting online on May 17 via Tencent Meeting.
Organized by the JRCC editorial team, the virtual event will feature presentations from 15 scholars affiliated with the journal, structured across three thematic sessions: society, history, and theological philosophy. Each session will include comments and Q&A segments, encouraging scholarly interaction.
Opening the conference, Daniel L. Li, editorial advisor from the Christianity and China Research Center, Los Angeles, will address a timely topic: "'America is Back' or 'Christianity is Back?': Will Christianity Regain Its Dominance in American Society after Trump's 2025 Reelection?"
Other featured speakers include Peng Rui, JRCC's associate editor-in-chief, who will present "The Construction of Ancient Hebrew Society from the Perspective of Kinship and Geographical Ties;" Li Nie, editorial committee member, with a talk titled "Navigating Between Two Parties: Wu Deshi and the Kuomintang and Chinese Communist Party;" Guo Jianbin, from the editors committee, who will speak on "The Reprinting of Catholic Texts from Late Ming to the Qing: The Case of Li Wenyu."
In the final session, Wang Xi and He Teng, also members of the editorial board, will delve into theological thought with presentations on "Wagner on Religious Truth and Symbolism" and "The Metaphysics of the One: Rethinking Eckhart's Mysticism."
With an ISSN of 2325-9914, the Journal of Research for Christianity in China, semi-annual, is published in June and December every year. While the journal primarily focuses on the study of Christianity in China, it also welcomes scholarly articles addressing Chinese philosophy, thought, culture, and religion.
