In the evening of Dec. 24, besides worshipping in churches, some Christians in Shenzhen, Kunming and Chengdu spent a different Christmas Eve. They left church and joined special groups, caring others' need.

Thousands of Christians Prayed for the victims' family suffered in Shenzhen landslide

Every Christmas Eve, Shenzhen Church holds three overcrowded services which around 3500 attend. This year it began with solemn minutes when believers prayed for the missing victims in Shenzhen landslide. Rev. Cai Bosheng, the president and chairman of Shenzhen CCC&TSPM, says three presiders led the congregation to pray before each service that may God comfort the family that lost loved and to pray for peace for Shenzhen.

Kunming Shijicheng Church Cleaned Up Street Rubbish

On Christmas Eve, paper waste, plastic packaging bags, snow spray cans and other rubbish were left on Nanping Business Street after the carnival, Kunming. Believers from Kunming Shijicheng Church, led by Rev. Pu Yunshan, cleaned up the waste on the street after the church service. Wearing red Christmas hats and red clothes, they carried clamps and garbage bags to clean the street.

Chengdu Church Cared the Sick In the Hospital

Wei Yin and other Christians went to an orthopaedics ward of a hospital to visit the sick who can't walk and need to be in hospital for over a year, Chengdu. 

Ruier, one of the sick people who only meet their parents, doctors, nurses and roommates, ate dinner with her mother at 6pm on Christmas Eve. Suddenly some Christian aunts came into the ward and sent apples as gifts to them. They sang a song A Gift to Ruier and other patients and taught them to play games. The Christians hugged with the patients with blessings and cut the cake...

Ruier sometimes goes to church for her mother is a Christian but after being hospitalized, she has never gone to church. She shared, "but I feel love and full of grace on this Christmas Eve in the hospital."

Wei Yin said, "There're different ways to celebrate Christmas Eve. Christians should go to places where need help thus we can feel more God's grace."
