On September 1, Fujian Theological Seminary held the opening ceremony for their new fall semester while also celebrating the 32nd Teachers' Day.

It is said that 82 new students were admitted for the new semester, most of whom pursue a bachelor's degree and have already obtained academic certificates in other majors. Now, the seminary has 142 students in total.

The seminary has first established the provincial seminary held by Fujian CCC&TSPM since the 3rd Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party. It began to hold an advanced class for volunteers lasting for two to three months in June 1981 and the class was upgraded to a one-year theological program the following September.

The next year, it initiated a two-year professional training class which was later upgraded to three years in 2002. In 2008, its education system was recognized by the State Administration for Religious Affairs and the seminary was promoted to a Christian theological college that offers undergraduate courses in March 2015.

The recent statistics provided by Fujian CCC&TSPM reveals that the college has trained over 1400 pastoral staff. Most of whom serve in the local churches of Fujian and at least 1.5 million Christians are under their guidance.
