Five Pastors in Jiangsu Stay in Place for Lunar New Year

Five pastors of the churches in Zhangjiagang recently decided to remain in place for the lunar new year to avoid COVID resurgences due to related travel, urging Christians to do the same.

Originally from Heze, Shandong Province, Su Shengjie, senior pastor of the Yangshe Church, has been living in Zhangjiagang for over twenty years.

"My mother is in her 80s. This year I planned to go home for the Spring Festival. I decide to answer the call due to the epidemic and stay in place," said the vice-chairman of Suzhou Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee and chairman of Zhangjiagang TSPM.

Rev. Zhou Wenjiang, vice-chairman of Zhangjiagang TSPM and senior pastor of Tangqiao Church said, "As a pastor of a church, I know well how tough the anti-epidemic work is. Therefore, I will keep to my post!"

Rev. Li Ruibiao from Hebi, Henan, senior pastor of the Harbour District Church and Daxin District Church, Pastor Li Xuerui of the Harbour District Church whose hometown is Dalian, Liaoning, and Ge Yifan from the same place, working as a pastor of Yangshe Church, also responded to the invitation for "Stay in Place for the Spring Festival."
