Recently, frequent outbreaks of COVID-19 have occurred in multiple places, for which the epidemic prevention and control situation is severe and complicated. Shanghai Christians are participating in volunteer activities with donations.

Shanghai CC&TSPM reported about churches in three districts contributing to the fight against the virus.

On March 11, Shanghai Qingpu District CC&TSPM donated 100,000 disposable medical masks to villagers of Zhaidong Neighborhood Committee of Xujing Town, Qingpu District.

Shanghai Putuo District CC&TSPM issued an urgent notice about the suspension of all in-person gatherings in its affiliated churches in the first place. Meanwhile, district churches advised believers not to participate in any informal gatherings, avoid going to crowded places, and help the communities with epidemic prevention work. Given the large daily consumption of anti-epidemic materials, Shanghai Pu'an Church donated 50,000 Yuan RMB (about 7,845 USD) to Shiquan Street for the procurement of emergency pandemic supplies.

On March 16 and 17, Christian volunteers in Jinshan District worked at nucleic acid testing sites in Xinghuo Village, Qianwei Village, Hengpu Village, and Fengjing Town, among others. Some volunteers assisted in crowd control, some helped the villagers download the mini-app "Health Cloud" and scan the QR code for registration, and some aided the elderly people with limited mobility.
