On May 11, in celebration of Mother's Day, three churches in Shaanxi, Jiangxi, and Yunnan provinces held Sunday worship services and themed gatherings to encourage believers to honor their mothers.
Shengli Road Church in Baoji, Shaanxi, marked the occasion with a Mother's Day Sunday service featuring worship songs led by the choir and praise team. The service included special speeches and blessings dedicated to mothers. During the sermon, Teacher Wei Ping delivered a message titled "Women of Virtue," drawing from Proverbs 31 to highlight the spiritual and practical significance of mothers within the family. She urged Christian women to lead wise and virtuous lives and encouraged male congregants to cherish such women.
According to Fuzhou Municipal CC, Meng'en Church in Zixi County, Fuzhou, Jiangxi, hosted a special Mother's Day gathering on May 11. Each mother was presented with flowers, and believers were encouraged to demonstrate filial love through tangible acts such as making tea, cooking meals, washing their mothers' feet, combing their hair, reading scripture with them, offering praise, taking walks together, arranging medical checkups and massages, and spending quality time.
At Beichen Church in Kunming, Yunnan, the Mother's Day celebration included the distribution of carnations to all mothers and the setup of a photo backdrop for group pictures, said the church. According to the host church, Rev. Zhong Lin delivered a sermon titled "Mothers: From Brokenness to Praise." The gathering also featured ice-breaking games, dances, solo performances, and mother-daughter duets.
