Shandong Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (CC&TSPM) held a prayer meeting on Good Friday as it resumed work earlier.
More than 50 members and staff from Shandong Theological Seminary attended it, according to Shandong CC&TSPM.
The meeting included a holy communion service and intercessory prayers for the global fight against COVID-19 and for front-line medical workers.
Rev. Gao Ming, chairman of Shandong TSPM, called on the participants to pray for the end of the coronavirus crisis and remember those affected areas and people. They prayed that God would be merciful, bless other countries in adopting effective containment measures, and protect medical staff and disease control workers.
The three-self churches in Shandong will be closed for an indefinite period of time.
