TSPM Chair Attends Ceremony Commemorating 80th Anniversary of Taiwan's Restoration

A meeting marking the 80th anniversary of Taiwan's restoration to China was held in Beijing on October 25, the first Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration. Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairperson of the National TSPM, was invited to attend.

According to CCC&TSPM, the event was attended by approximately 500 participants, including officials from central party, government, and military departments; representatives from the Beijing Municipal Government; leaders from the central committees of democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and non-party affiliates; figures from various sectors in the capital; scholars and experts; compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan; representatives of overseas Chinese; foreign ambassadors to China; and delegates from international organizations based in China.

On October 24, the 18th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress voted to designate October 25 as the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration, with commemorative activities organized nationwide.
