On August 1, a memorial service was held at the Hanbin District Funeral Home in Hanbin, Ankang, Shaanxi Province, for Elder Zhang Chongjun, the first chairperson and president of the Ankang Municipal CC&TSPM, former chairperson and president of the Hanbin District CC&TSPM, and former leader of the Gospel Church in Hanbin District.
According to the provincial CC&TSPM, Rev. Cui Wanjun, chairperson and president of the municipal CC&TSPM, delivered a eulogy reflecting on Elder Zhang's life of faithful service.
Born in 1940, Elder Zhang was baptized in 1993 and ordained in 1998. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to the church and was humble in service. She was regarded as a respected pastor and faithful church steward.
Rev. Sun Ronghua, deputy secretary general and associate general secretary of the municipal CC&TSPM, delivered a sermon encouraging the congregation to find comfort and hope in the Lord's promises amid their grief. She urged believers to follow Elder Zhang's example by working in unity to advance the gospel.
