The China Christian Council (CCC) and the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) initiated the third session of a training class on public health and safety in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, in southwestern China.

Under the collaborative host of the CCC&TSPM and Guizhou Provincial CC&TSPM, a public health and safety training course for churches was held in Guiyang from September 18th to 21st, said the Social Service Ministry of the CCC&TSPM. This workshop, themed "Public Health and Safety" and organized by the CCC&TSPM, was the third session training course in the area, with nearly 80 pastoral staff from three provinces and one municipality in southwestern China (Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province, Sichuan Province, and Chongqing City) participating.

In this training class, there were five themed courses, including “public health emergency response," "disaster prevention and joint efforts for safety," "psychological health and support," and "church public health and safety workshop." During these courses, teaching, discussion, and sharing were conducted through different forms, like related knowledge lectures, case sharing, simulation practices, and interactive Q&A.

During the courses, a specially appointed researcher from the Sichuan Province's Extreme Environmental Natural Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Engineering Research Center, drawing on their experience in disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief, presented information on contemporary disaster risks and relevant national policies. The researcher also shared specific cases and examples related to potential safety risks and preventive measures that churches might encounter.

At the "church public health and safety workshop," participants engaged in discussions on three key questions "What public health safety events might occur within a church?" "Practical experiences, challenges, and issues related to church public health safety management." "How to establish a public health safety management mechanism for the church."
