From June 5 to 6, the Academic Titles Working Group of Christian Theological Seminaries and Schools in China convened in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
According to CCC&TSPM, Rev. Lin Manhong, vice chairperson of the working group, outlined the requirements for academic titles. Participants studied the "Measures for the Conferment of Academic Titles in Religious Institutions" and were acquainted with the "Working Regulations of the Academic Titles Working Group for Theological Seminaries and Schools in China."
The meeting reviewed and approved the "Implementation Rules for the Conferment of Academic Titles in Christian Theological Seminaries and Schools in China" and endorsed the proposed committee lists for bachelor's title evaluation, master's thesis defense, and doctoral thesis defense submitted by Nanjing Union Theological Seminary.
Vice Chairperson Rev. Wen Ge delivered a report on the thesis defenses at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary. Members of the working group examined the seminary's master's and doctoral theses, offered review comments, and conducted a vote. The meeting also addressed topics including the format of academic title certificates.
