The World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee will convene in Hangzhou, China, from 20-25 November, at the invitation of the China Christian Council.
From October 7 to 10, a five-member delegation from the National Association of YMCAs of China, along with representatives from the Shanghai, Chengdu, and Xi'an YMCAs, visited Kitakyushu, Japan, to attend the 2025 China-Japan YMCA Liaison Committee Meeting.
Starting from September 22, Rev. Mathew K. Punnoose, general secretary of the Bible Society of Malaysia, led a delegation of 13 colleagues to visit the Shanghai CC&TSPM and the national seminary in Nanjing.
The fifth Sino-Japanese YWCA “Nanjing Peace Pilgrimage” took place in Nanjing, Jiangsu, from September 21 to 25. This year's event carried the theme "Peace Transmitting Warmth and Hope," attended by forty representatives from YWCAs and YMCAs in Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Sapporo, as well as from various cities across China.
On the afternoon of September 18, 2025, a welcome ceremony for the newly appointed Israeli Ambassador to China and a celebration of the Jewish New Year were held in Shanghai.
From September 9 to 11, the Second International Civil Society Conference on Jointly Implementing the Global Development Initiative, was held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. The conference brought together more than 300 guests from over 50 countries, engaging in in-depth discussions around the Global Development Initiative.
The Memorial Hall of the Victims in the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders recognized six new “Nanjing Massacre Historical Memory Inheritors” on August 15, including descendants of a foreign missionary and an international humanitarian for the first time.
“But you have one Bible, two knees, a threefold cord (the domestic church, overseas Chinese, and the global church), the diaspora mission in all four directions, and five loaves and two fish,” Pastor Yu Mujie urged Chinese diaspora who may have little resources to preach the gospel to different regions of the world.
This summer, Kuliang in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, has become a popular destination for both events and summer retreats. Among those invited to participate in local activities was Thomas Hemenway, a descendant of Dr. Ruth V. Hemenway, one of the “Kuliang Friends.”
From June 18 to 25, two representatives from China traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, to attend the 70th Central Committee Meeting of the World Council of Churches.
