A joint choral sacred music meeting took place in the Gospel Church in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
During the meeting specifically for promoting the sinicization of Christianity through sacred music and cohering the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, nine choirs comprising more than 400 people from five cities in Guangdong Province presented 17 music pieces in various styles on May 24, according to Dongguan CC&TSPM. Classic pieces like "Amazing Grace" and "Sending Gracious Light" impressed the audience, and the "Ode to Salvation," which blended the rhythms of Cantonese opera with sacred music.
After the performance, judges commented on them from the professional angles of vocal skills, emotional expression, and the interpretation of the sinicization, pointing out the advantages as well as the disadvantages.
